Texture, color and iridescence are the core of this beautiful collection of textiles by Bart Halpern. His influence of fashion and architecture can be seen in the undulating pleats used in creating a sophisticated and glamorous textural effect. Pleats are available on all solid fabrics whether it is rich velvet, polyester, linen or silk. Fabrics are suited for transitional or contemporary interiors and can be used as upholstery, drapery and backed for wall application.
Made from microfiber and natural fibers, many of the textiles are inherently flame retardant and fade resistant, making them ideal for the hospitality and residential markets.
The iridescence and sinuous use of pleats in their sheer fabrics is particularly exciting to me. Tatami Pleat and Cascade Pleat are two of my favorites.
Another technique used with sheer fabrics is the Laser Cut Series. It brings the unexpected with fascinating cut-outs and a range of possibilities. In addition to drapery application, perhaps use as room divider or wall hanging.
Collaboration with Pulp Studio brings yet another unique application. Textiles can be sandwiched between glass for cabinets, sinks and walls.
